  They don't make pubs like this anymore. . It has the solid bar, older style interior like a pub should be! Good food nice staff and right opposite the Hospital so you can sneak out for a few schooners when you're sick!

  Classic local pub on Missenden Rd. Decent looking meals available at slightly exorbitant prices. Takeaway alcohol prices are much more respectable than drink-in prices. Comfortable outdoor courtyard area was previously more comfortable, it now includes uncomfortable metal chairs. Pub is usually relatively quiet which enhances its local pub atmosphere. Pub is occasionally packed to the rafters when students from St John's College (across the street) gather for mass alcohol intake. Pub is best avoided on these occasions as service will be slow due to the crowd, and the students will not be cooperative and allow you space to walk by.

  Really enjoyed this pub over daily visits late March 2018. Great food specials daily and nice cold. Beer. The staff were exceptionally friendly and cheerful

  Had a fantastic meal here last night. Food was amazing, service friendly and we just loved it. No glamour but a cozy atmosphere and a perfect place to eat on a rainy Tuesday night.
