The only thing stressed at the Oak is the decor. It's a cool watering hole that attracts all types, of all styles in a broad age range but all with a similar agenda.

The Royal Oak team are passionate about good food, coffee, wine, mixology and music.

Don't expect robotic service, the staff are as cheeky as they are friendly. About the only thing they take seriously is making sure the patrons are having a great time.

    Best pub chef in Parramatta - $10-$12 meals - outstanding - a great pub - what a turnaround from a few years ago when it was a dump. Six years later the food is even better. Steaks still from $13. Get there soon because the state Government has ordered its demolition for a light rail to nowhere. Still fabulous meals - closing late 2018.

    This is one of the rare Old Pubs with great character. Sadly it is closing down in November to make way for the Parramatta Tramway Generous Pup food and Resches Beer on tap and to being my favourite watering hole.
