  Finally made it to this Melbourne institution, now I know what the fuss is all about. There is so much history here! It has friendly, knowledgeable staff with character- everything is just a little quirky- very Melbourne really. We came for the Sunday roast but I could not resist the chicken Kiev, and it was a really good one, delicious river of homemade garlic butter flowing from my knife's incision. I love all the retro nods on the menu, cant wait to return for the Prawn cocktail. My husband had the Roast Pork which was also delicious. Highly recommend for great pub fare and a cracking wine list to boot!

  Great place, apparently famous for their 'Dry & Dry' (dry Ginger ale and dry vermouth) which is quite nice! Seating outside after 3 is still smoking (really Melbourne!?!?) do you can't have food out there. But otherwise a really nice spot for s drink with friends.

  It hard to understand why I've lived in Melbourne for over thirty years and failed to make it to Jimmy Watson's Wine Bar before last Friday. It's reputation didn't disappoint. The service was attentive from first moment to last, the wine recommendation first class and the food, sublime. I opted for a pasta special: a veal, mushroom and rocket linguine with fabulously autumnal flavours, my friend a finely roasted lamb rump. A delightful spot to eat good food, drink fine wine and let time pass. Highly recommended.

  I love dropping into Jimmy Watson's The Wolf's Lair with colleagues after work. Great wine and atmosphere. Cosy inside and and cool rooftop space for warmer days/nights. Good bar snacks too.
