  Great food, great selection of drinks, great staff. The atmosphere is like and old school pub littered with sporting tat. The tables and chairs have been through their days but their weathered look just add to the atmosphere. I prefer to go during weeknights other than Friday so that I can enjoy a more quiet night, however I use the term quiet loosely. The pub does like to out their music on full blast and if you're unfortunate enough to be sitting next to the speaker you will have to scream when talking to your companions. Everywhere else maybe some mild shouting to reasonable conversation levels. Still a great classic pub to visit, I always come back to it.

  The DJ's really don't know what they are doing. The songs are just bad. The bar is the best part about this place. They have good drinks. But isn't the cheapest place in Melbourne central. But it is a must try. Just avoid it during the peak nights. This place get ridiculously crowded

  Not a pub to go to on a date or to impress but the staff are great and the booze is fairly cheap (for the city)... you could do much worse for a local. Food is good but expensive.... on the other hand the servings are huge. Been going for years and haven't had anything to complain about. They play sports on several tv's and if you're polite you can ask for whatever game you like. Big sports events are often put on the Big screen and turned up loud. With many pubs going under and being replaced by craft beer bars and expensive clique joints, the lions great to hang out and have an uncomplicated jug of beer relaxing and watching some footy with your mates. Booths and outside tables are also available, by outside I mean outside the pub but still inside mc. Thumbs up from me.

  Busy pub. Was just there for a quicky before heading off to the audience of the project. Was a great style. Awesomely big place with lots of different areas to chill. Warm pub environment. Nice. Cheers

  If you're Latin, or like Tequila, Lion Hotel on Thursdays is great. Bouncers aren't particularly friendly, but will take care of you if you need help. Cheap drinks, two bars and dance floors, and a whole lot of fun.
